The last single girl in Marmaris
Firstly let me introduce myself because without an intro you will have no idea what this is all about. My name is Louise. I am a 31 year old British single gal living in Marmaris, Turkey. I have a dog called Gucci Prince Michael the 2nd (Guc for short), a car called Kastro and I used to have a scooter called Betty until some arse stole her.
Im not weird I swear.
I was a columnist for a local magazine here in Marmaris called Samata. I have written some articles for Yahoo! previously and now I am in the process of writing a rather funny book based on my life here in Turkey as a thirty something single socialite. In my diary and book segments you will find pieces from my book (that is still a work in progress), and throughout the tabs of the other pages you will find articles that I have written in the hopes of helping other fabulous singletons getting through some tough times and to see that there is always a funny side of things :) And if all of the above sends you off to the land of nod, then check out what Gucci is up to in his world.
But enough of that - let me tell you a little more about my life:
I have lived out here in Marmaris since I was 16 years old when I decided to show my parents that I could indeed hold my own. So I hopped on a plane and I am still here – see Mum, I aint dead yet!
I have a great team of Mingers (terribly good friends) that I love dearly and a Sister of the opposite sex. When you dont have your family with you, you have to create one of your own and I think I have done a pretty good job of doing just that.
I have been a jack of all trades in my time here taking on positions with tour operators to now running an employment agency (as well as everything else) here in Marmaris.
Sounds like I am doing well doesn’t it? Well, I will let you be the judge of that… :)
Now we all have a past don’t we. Mine is a past and a half. I wont go into too much detail as I’m sure you will get the picture as you read my diary, but do please bear in mind that I am a relatively normal single gal – well, as normal as you are going to get living in a foreign land filled with mostly abnormal people.
I like most, have an ex that was the thorn in my side for a hell of a long time. Now when I say thorn in my side, I really mean the one that got away, the one that broke my heart, the one that I hated for a long assed time, and now I don’t.
He gave me a lot of inspiration to put pen to paper and write. In fact, he kick started my writing career. Thanks I guess?
He is now just one of those guys that I used to date, but for some reason, he keeps rearing his not so ugly head.
Usually after I stalk him with drunk texts.
Well, we all do it don’t we?
